Established in the heart of Taunton over 100 years ago The Westgate Inn today is just as popular as it was then. The Westgate Inn has been recently refurbished to give a great drinking and social experience. From a selection of fine cask ales to all of your favourite lagers, bitters and spirits, every pint is guaranteed perfection.

We have lots of very comfortable seating and spacious tables to ensure that your experience is as pleasant as possible. We have also just opened our new non-smoking area which, while still connected to the main pub, has its own entrance and private bar for your privacy and pleasure.

With a large selection of quality food served everyday (Monday to Thursday 12pm to 9pm & Friday to Saturday 12pm to 8pm) you are sure to find something you'll enjoy throughout the day to whet your appetite and quench your thirst.

Leisure

We are one of the few pubs in the area to have several state-of-the-art flat screen TV's and a large projector screen, which is perfect for showing all of your favourite sports matches. We currently show football (including Prem+, Premiership, World Cup, Euro 2008 qualifier matches), rugby (including six nations, World Cup, Tests and league matches), cricket (including Tests, World Cup, 20/20 and league matches).

We host live music every Friday and Saturday. Our acts include all of your old favourites, pop, jazz, rock and tribute acts. We've even featured star acts from all corners of the globe. Every Monday we have a fun open mic night.

We have a fantastic summer courtyard garden. The garden is totally enclosed with ample comfortable seating to relax on and admire the great selection of flowers. We have a strong community spirit and house four local football teams and our own competitive skittles team.
